The University of Kentucky is installing artificial-intelligence facial-scanning technology in several campus residence halls. Several students complained, while others said they felt safer. The Rock, as it is called, was created by Alcatraz AI. Administrators said it is replacing key badges due to campus safety.


Kentucky pulls a surprise
Kentucky scored 21 points in the third quarter, and the Cats upset No. 9 Texas A&M 31-21 on Saturday at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. Kenny Minchey was efficient on Saturday, connecting on 14 of 18 through the air for 252 yards and a touchdown. C.J. Baxter led all players with 87 rushing yards and he added two touchdowns. D.J. Miller caught five passes for 96 yards, while Kenny Darby caught two passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. The win brings some optimism to winning games while playing one of the toughest schedules in the country.


Louisville Outduels SMU
Keyjuan Brown ran for a career-high 163 yards and a pair of long touchdowns on 10 carries to guide No. 23 Louisville to a 41-31 victory over 16th-ranked SMU on Saturday. The preseason media picks to finish second (SMU) and third (Louisville) in the Atlantic Coast Conference put on a back-and-forth affair, trading the lead eight times before the Cardinals sealed it on Isaac Brown’s 27-yard touchdown with 5:32 remaining to finish the scoring. Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams is one of 38 election officials, many of whom are Republicans, who have filed a brief in opposition to President Donald Trump’s new limits on mail-in ballots. Changes would have included barcodes on all mail- in ballots.
