Can the transition to the new head coach Will Stein, bring success?. He rebuilt a program much like Coach Pope did in basketball. From the transfer portal. A roster full of new faces on the offensive side of the ball. That gives Kentucky fans some hope for an offense that brings a very much improved front line. Stein brings with him one of the most exciting offenses in the country, but new systems take time. A new young quarterback from Notre Dame, Kenny Michney has the size and speed to run when needed and shown accuracy in his limited passes with the Irish. The wide receiver corp should be much improved,however running backs are still a question.
While Kentucky's schedule is ranked as the 4th toughest in college football ( eight teams expected to be ranked in the top 25.),it does have winnable home games.
Kentucky could win 5-6 games, anymore would be over expectations even with a prolific coach.I believe the new look will bring excitement to field for Cat fans. I don't think they are "ready for prime time in the SEC, but they can certainly surprise a few teams.
For the record, I have always like Louisville football. Will we see improvement or they fall back? Looking at their schedule, opening with an SEC opponent Ole Miss, could get the ball rolling for the Cards and end up with 10 wins. Their ACC games are all winnable as long as Isaac Brown stays healthy.
The linebackers are some of the best in the country making the defense one of the best in the ACC. Offensively, the quarterback situation still needs to be determined, but hand the ball to Brown and RUN....
So here we are Nov. 28th at Kroger Field. On the surface Louisville should win by 14, but they play on the field so whoever controls the line will win this game. Questions remain, Can QBs excel? Can Kentucky stop Brown? Can Stein bring the ferocity from the practice field to Cards, or will the Cards show why they will win the ACC?
