Keep 9
Conservatives and other legal professionals send letters to Congress urging a Constitutional amendment to protect the integrity of the Supreme Court.
With the left promising to increase the Court to 13 if they gain power, for one reason, POWER.
The letter sent by Advancing American Freedom President Tim Chapman and Liberty Justice Center Chairwoman and CEO Sara Albrecht, and signed by others.
The Supreme Court number of members hasn't changed since 1869. While the Constitution does not limit the number of sitting justices, the number has been the same for 155 years
In June, the House Judiciary Committee voted 15-8 to advance the so-called KEEP 9 legislation. It may be a long shot. The amendment would two- thirds vote in both the House and Senate, and 38 states would have to ratify it. The last amendment was added in 1992; the 27th amendment restricted Congress from raising its own pay without an election.
